Led by faculty director Liz McKenna, Assistant Professor of Public Policy at HKS, the Civic Power Lab at Harvard Kennedy School develops accessible approaches to measuring political power, studying organizational governance, and understanding the relationship between civil society and authoritarianism.
The lab also serves as a vehicle for scholars and practitioners to study and strengthen democratic organizing worldwide. Liz McKenna is a distinguished political sociologist whose research focuses on how civil society can both enable and constrain democracy.
