Communications Summer Associate
Project Description:
We seek communications support including data collection, performance analysis, and research to help strengthen our communications processes and outputs.
Reporting to the Senior Director of Communications, the Summer Associate will help advance center communications by supporting work across communications channels as well as analyzing and reporting on communications practices and opportunities in our spheres of work.
Tasks and Deliverables:
- Assist with data collection and analysis to examine performance on multiple platforms, including web, email, and social media.
- Create a benchmarking process to systematically compare center communications efforts to comparable organizations.
- Identify, analyze, and understand best practices and explore new methods.
- Assist with developing key performance indicators based on center goals and external standards.
- Help with strategies to engage social media followers, email subscribers, and web visitors, supporting the release of research and learning resources and aiding overall engagement with the center.
- Aid content development, keeping notes and files and sourcing materials as required.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven ability to work independently as well as part of a team, supporting a culture of excellence grounded in learning, problem solving, and teamwork
- Analytical mindset: practiced in objectively assessing inputs, identifying important metrics, and synthesizing learnings
- Excellent writing, interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills
- Communications or marketing experience desirable
- Commitment to racial justice and equity
- Experience with Salesforce and Marketing Cloud a plus
Compensation: $21-$25/hour
