Nisha Kumar is a research associate for the Community Data Health Initiative, where she helps city leaders address health disparities by mitigating hyperlocal environmental harm. She brings expertise in public health and has worked across varying levels of government — including with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, California’s Department of Health Care Services, and the city of Anaheim — to improve the health of elderly, disabled, and unhoused communities.
She holds a master’s degree in public policy from the Harvard Kennedy School and a Bachelor of Arts in public health from the University of California, Berkeley.
