Maria Daniels is senior director of communications for the Bloomberg Center for Cities at Harvard University. She developed expertise in nonprofit communications at Boston-area institutions—the Boston Athenæum; Harvard and Tufts Universities, working for the groundbreaking Perseus Project; WGBH Boston, directing new media for the award-winning PBS history series, “American Experience”; Brigham and Women’s Hospital—and at advocacy nonprofits, including a foundation established by Swanee Hunt, founder of the Women and Public Policy Program at Harvard Kennedy School.
Maria is especially experienced in strategy, brand development, and multi-channel engagement campaigns. A student of history (Bachelor of Arts, Brown University) and photography (Master of Fine Arts, School of the Museum of Fine Arts), she lives in Medford, Massachusetts with her husband, two teenage sons, and a dog named Bear.
