Dorothy Manevich is a postdoctoral fellow with the Civic Power Lab, where she works with grassroots organizations to understand how communities come together to create independent power bases and win the policies they need to thrive. Dorothy received her Ph.D. from the Department of Government at Harvard in 2025. Her dissertation focused on the strategies activists use to navigate socially hostile political environments. Dorothy is a mixed methods researcher with experience in surveys, experiments, and in-depth interviews. During graduate school, Dorothy spent five years organizing with the UAW in Massachusetts, where she worked on advocacy around housing affordability and labor rights. She is a proud alum of the Harvard Graduate Students Union (UAW Local 5118).
