New initiative will serve as a critical resource for cities interested in data, tools, and insights to deliver more effective public services for all

September 19, 2024, Cambridge, Massachusetts—The Equity Innovation Hub, a think-and-do lab, has been established at the Bloomberg Center for Cities at Harvard University and will launch formally in spring 2025.

The hub is directed by Kimberlyn Leary, Ph.D., MPA of Harvard Medical School and the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, who is also a Senior Fellow at the Bloomberg Center for Cities.

The hub already supports current and future government and community leaders in data-driven innovation, catalyzing collaboration across boundaries to advance equitable outcomes. The Hub seeks to reimagine cities where all can flourish through topics and practice areas such as health equity; environmental and climate justice; wealth, mobility, and opportunity gaps; digital divides and artificial intelligence in public service delivery; and democracy and government innovation.
