Location

The Bloomberg Center for Cities at Harvard University is located on the third floor of the Taubman Building of Harvard Kennedy School (HKS) near Harvard Square. The street address is 15 Eliot Street, Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Entry

Summer 2025
All visitors including Harvard ID holders must enter via the Wexner entrance between Monday, June 2 and Friday, August 22. The Wexner Building entrance, at the back of the HKS courtyard, remains open 7:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m. seven days a week. You must present your Harvard ID or a photo ID to the security desk to be granted entry. The Belfer and Taubman entrances to HKS will be closed during this period.

Directions from the Wexner entrance: Take the elevator or stairs on your left to level 3. Proceed straight down the hallway and then turn right at the sign for the Rubenstein Building. At the end of the hallway take the short flight of stairs or the elevator on the left to access level 3R, then turn right, following signs for the Bloomberg Center for Cities.

Public Transit Directions

From the Harvard Square Subway Station: The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) subway (known locally as “the T”) stops at Harvard Square on the Red Line, less than a quarter of a mile from the center. Upon exiting the main Harvard Square (not Church Street) entrance of the Harvard T station, take a left onto JFK Street and take a right onto Eliot Street.

From Logan Airport: Public transit time is roughly one hour. Follow signs in Arrivals for shuttle buses. Outside the terminal, take the MBTA’s free SL1 Silver Line bus to South Station. Follow signs to the Red Line subway trains. Take the Red Line toward Alewife. Harvard is six stops from South Station.

Parking

Parking can be found at the following locations:

• University Place Garage, located behind 124 Mount Auburn Street (enter at 45 University Road). Take a ticket upon entering the garage and pay with the clerk at the exit booth.
• Harvard Square Parking Garage, located at 20 Eliot Street. Take a ticket upon entering the garage and pay with the clerk at the exit booth.
• Charles Hotel Garage, located at One Bennett Street, past the Charles Hotel entrance on Eliot Street. Take a ticket upon entering the garage and pay with the clerk at the exit booth. Harvard Students are eligible to receive discounted rates for parking.
