Jessicah Pierre is the senior director of communications and engagement at the Bloomberg Center for Cities, where she leads communications strategy and engagement initiatives that amplify the Center’s mission to support mayors and city leaders in delivering better outcomes for residents worldwide.
Jessicah brings over a decade of experience in public sector and nonprofit communications, with deep expertise in high-stakes media relations, crisis communications, executive messaging, and long-term narrative strategy. Most recently, she served as chief communications officer for the city of Boston, leading all aspects of communications for Mayor Michelle Wu, including media relations, crisis response, executive speechwriting, and citywide storytelling across municipal agencies.
Previously, Jessicah founded J. Pierre Communications, advising public leaders and mission-driven organizations on brand strategy, executive visibility, and storytelling for impact. She has also held senior communications roles at the Black Economic Council of Massachusetts and the Institute for Policy Studies.
Jessicah earned her Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2013.
