About

Helen Hendrickson is a program director for city support at the Bloomberg Harvard City Leadership Initiative. In this role she is responsible for a variety of activities to support city leaders and engage students. She is especially focused on collaboration and believes that building the skills and competencies to effectively engage diverse stakeholders working across sectors, jurisdiction, and agencies is critical to allowing cities to solve the toughest problems facing residents.

Prior to the Bloomberg Harvard City Leadership Initiative, Helen developed and facilitated innovative and effective online and in-person learning opportunities. Most recently she led the design process for several online courses for the Certificate in School Management and Leadership, a joint program of Harvard Business School and the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She has also worked as a community organizer and advocacy manager for healthcare and disability rights. Helen brings a passion for ensuring that directly impacted community members have a seat at the table where decisions are made.

Helen holds a Bachelor of Arts from Hampshire College and a master’s degree in public policy and administration from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
