About

Ishu Gupta is currently pursuing a master’s degree in public policy at the Harvard Kennedy School. With over eight years of experience as an action researcher at esteemed institutions such as the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, UNICEF, and the Indian School of Democracy, Ishu’s work has centered around facilitating policy obligations from city governments to citizens. He has actively engaged in field-based research, collaborating with city governments and designing capacity building initiatives for city governments in India. In addition, Ishu has led the research vertical at a public leadership institute, nurturing grassroots leaders with moral imagination to contest elections.

His research work encompasses various domains, including urban governance, social protection, education, and community resilience. Recognizing the importance of community leadership, Ishu has also founded a community-run initiative that supports school drop-out girls in completing their education.

Originally from Aligarh, India, Ishu is an alumnus of Aligarh Muslim University, where he studied electrical engineering.
